Last year I taught a lesson about Aboriginal Art that I thought was very successful. We started by choosing an Australian animal to draw. Then we traced it on tooling foil. We colored with Sharpies and cut out. Then using construction paper crayons we added Aboriginal symbols. We finished with LOT OF DOTS (florescent paint).
Really cool!! What grade level made this one? I love the way the paint makes it pop out. I bet the kids LOVED making it.
ReplyDeleteI did this with 5th grade. Yes, they really enjoyed it (exceot some got tired of dotting at the end). I was wondering if you could tell me the name of the book that goes with "William" the hippo. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYES! I'm sorry, I forgot. I'll send you those handouts, too. I have no idea how to use the scanner so maybe I'll just send them to school...I have the book at school and I'll check with you on Monday. If you can't find it on amazon, or if it costs a lot, you are welcome to borrow mine. Just let me know!
