Working on Another Blog....

Blogging has been a great outlet for me in the past 6 months.  I can't believe 73 people follow what I write.  I love being a part of this art teacher community. You guys are great and I am very thankful!
I have been struggling with the idea of starting another blog that is mainly for my students.  I wanted to be able to put up pictures of the kids working and links to neat art cites.  Here is what I have come up with so far... http://dundeeart.blogspot.com/
I would love to hear your feedback and any recommendation for fun art websites for kids.  Some of the posts are modified repeats from this blog, but others are not.  I have found that loading pictures as a album has been a lot easier too.  Thanks!

  1. Have you tried Artsonia, a web museum for kid's art? Our parents love it, and kids can view work from their peers and leave comments.

  2. I used Artsonia at my old school when I worked part-time. I thought it was great, but very time consuming. How do you find the time to do Artsonia and work full-time? I don't think I could ever keep up.

  3. Do you know buildyourwildself.com??? My elementary students absolutely love any opportunity to go to that site.

Also, when I post a student's work to my blog, I send home a little note (on fluorescent paper) saying that their artwork is on the blog with my blog's url. This has increased my traffic and the kids get SO excited when they get those notes.

  6. Working part-time must be the key to success as far as Artsonia is concerned - I teach a couple of classes, so loading work to that site isn't too bad. I do use their super uploader and a Mac, so it goes fairly quickly. Hope you find a good solution.
