Tis the Season.. for Great/Cheap Art Prints!!!

Every year I try to buy calendars on sale.  I find that this is the most economical way to build my art print library.  Barnes and Noble seems to always have calendars 50% off right after Christmas.  I like buying online because there is a better selection.  Here are a few of the calendars on my list for this year…
I  googled Barnes and Noble coupon codes and got a few extra bucks off too (and free shipping of course)!!!

  1. Good for you! I was at both Barnes & Noble and Borders earlier today. Got a weekly calendar illustrated by George Rodrigue of Blue Dog fame. My second graders are midway through a painting project using warm/cool colors with his dogs as our inspiration...this will provide some more examples for them! Not much else of interest on the shelves but maybe I'll have better luck online - thanks for the tip.

  2. I was just looking at Borders and their calendars are 50% off too. I am trying to refrain from buying a Matisee Cutout and Gaudi calendar.

I am hoping to do a Blue Dog lesson soon. Will you post the finished projects on your blog?

  3. That's a good idea to buy calendars. Unfortunately B&N doesn't ship to Holland for free. Shipping is so expensive, I guess I have to visit the USA this summer again!

  4. Thank you thank you for this blog post! I was at the mall looking for calendars today but only found Georgia O'Keefe and Dali and didn't need either. I don't have a B&N locally but am going to immediately order, especially the Rizzi! Yippee! Thanks for the idea!!

  5. I placed my calendar order last night - got the Rizzi, a Chagall, and a Klee for school, and beautifully illustrated Alice in Wonderland calendar (NOT movie images, or the original drawings, but very lovely and unique images) for home. Thanks for the tip. There were so many I liked, but I had to narrow it down to what I thought I'd actually use next year.

  7. Great idea! I enjoyed reading your blog posts. Keep 'em coming! It's a great way for we art teachers to connect - it can be lonely being the only ONE!
